Details

Italian architect and designer Antonio Citterio is a master of saying a lot with a little. His Klismos Lounge Chair (2022) melds organic beauty with careful craftsmanship. Contrasting solid and airy woven materials – cotton cord knotted onto a gently curved oak frame with tapered legs – create a striking silhouette with inviting ease. Inspired by the classic klismos chairs of ancient Greece, the lounge chair’s generous proportions invite comfort and add a timeless accent to any room. The slender, removable leather cushion can be placed on the seat for added comfort. Made in Italy.

Antonio Citterio

Antonio Citterio creates visual interest and harmony by combining materials and forms in original, yet relatively thoughtful and decorous ways. Born in Meda, a small city north of Milan, Citterio graduated in architecture from the Politecnico of Milan in 1972 and established a design studio with Paolo Nava, who remained a close collaborator until 1981.
