20-06 Barstool
The frame of the 20-06 Barstool (2006) is crafted out of 80% recycled aluminum and has a tensile strength three times that of steel. The hand-welded seamless construction is the result of a 77-step process developed in 1944 when Emeco first manufactured its 1006 Navy Chair for use on WWII submarines. The 20-06 Barstool is part of a collection that began with the 20-06 Chair designed by architects Foster & Partners for the Smithsonian expansion in Washington, D.C. The inventive geometry and ecological considerations they bring to architecture are evident in the entire 20-06 table and seating series. Constructed with an anodized finish, this Barstool is suitable for outdoor use or anywhere moisture can collect. The 20-06 collection has an estimated 150-year lifespan – longevity that means less impact on the earth's resources. Contributes to LEED Certification Credit #4.2 Recycled Content. Made in U.S.A.
