Model 2097 30
Model 2097 30
Gino Sarfatti was an industrialist and designer, and the combination shows in his Model 2097 30 (1958). In his 30-year career, Sarfatti produced more than 400 lamps and was known for tireless research into new materials, production methods and sources of light. Model 2097 uses 30 bulbs that are arranged around a steel tube, and held in place by chromium-plated horizontal arms. In contrast to the strong horizontal and vertical lines, the electrical wires gently curve from each lamp to the stem, and give this modern icon a hint of traditional chandelier shape. The Venice-born designer held a degree in aeronaval engineering and was instrumental in advancing the modern architectural movement in lighting through his work for Arteluce, which he founded, and Flos. Bulbs (included): 30 incandescent 15W/120V/E14.
