An icon of modern lighting, Joe Colombo's Coupé Table Lamp (1967) celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2007, but its chrome and lacquer styling is timeless. The semi-cylindrical shade has a plastic joint fitting that allows it to be raised and lowered (using a knob on the diffuser), turned 360 degrees or angled to the left or right for direct, focused lighting. A discreet button on the back of the shade, tucked between the shade and the chrome-plated aluminum stem, turns the lamp on and off. One of Italy's most renowned industrial designers, Colombo was awarded a 1968 International Design Award from the American Institute of Interior Designers for his Coupé Lamp. Made in Italy.
