Philippe Starck's Miss K Table Lamp (2003) quickly became Flos Lighting's best-selling product, so the Miss K S2 Pendant (2005) was a logical next step. Like the Table Lamp, the S2 is impressive with its functionality-based dual aesthetic: When unlit, the polycarbonate lampshade shows subtle detail with a dark metallic tint. When lit, though, the lamp appears almost like an X-ray, with the bulb starkly visible behind the now-clear illuminated shade.
