Made from LEDs and recyclable aluminum, Pablo Pardo's innovative Brazo Task Lamp (2006) is the first LED task light to feature focus control, providing both a variable beam spread and focused directional light. In the shape of an inverted "L," Brazo's top arm lets you turn an outer aluminum layer over the white LEDs to focus the light as much or as little as is desired. The top piece freely rotates and also tilts up to 90 degrees. Height adjustable with a dimmer knob, Brazo is eminently adaptable, a true innovation in LED versatility. Using 18 high-output LEDs, it has an estimated life of 25,000 energy-efficient hours. The simple, svelte Brazo won the 2007 Best of Competition Award at the Neocon Contract Furniture Exposition – a first for a lighting design.
