A Japanese take on the iconic bowling set, the small-scale of this item won us over on a recent trip to Tokyo. The designer had the idea for this set after watching his child carefully set up a line of dolls and toys, and then use a ball to try to knock them down. The child was bowling without knowing there was a name to this “invented” game and the designer realized that while there were plastic bowling sets on the market, there were no sets made with natural materials. This Bowling Set is the result. It is made with a woven rattan ball and cypress wood pins. The set can be used as a children’s toy or as a sculptural piece for adults. The entire set can be stored in the included drawstring burlap bag, which also makes for a nice gift presentation.
