Expanding on the bestselling About A Chair Collection, originally designed by Hee Welling for HAY in 2009, the AAC 13 features the same gently curved, supportive shell, now upholstered in a wide range of fabrics and leathers for added comfort and design options, whether in the dining room, workspace or throughout the house. The seat and back are shaped for comfort and sit on rounded, solid wood legs. Hee Welling
The son of a cabinetmaker, Hee Welling grew up in his father’s shop, right next to the family home in Denmark. Establishing his own studio in 2003, Welling got his first big break with the Hee Chair from HAY, being made entirely of metal, was quite a departure from the cabinetmaking shop. He went on to design one of Scandinavia's most popular and versatile chairs for HAY, the About A Chair.
