Made with the best natural materials and refined steam-bent methods, the Wishbone Chair (1949), also known as the CH-24, is one of the first chairs Hans Wegner designed for the Danish firm Carl Hansen & Søn. While the Wishbone with a woven paper cord seat is familiar to many, there was also this leather version, known to only a few. In 2020, DWR and Carl Hansen worked together to bring back this long-forgotten gem, upholstered in low-maintenance, stain-resistant embossed ox hide. This light, sculptural dining chair is also a favorite choice for relaxed sitting away from the table, and the leather seat makes it an especially welcome addition to living rooms, dens, and of course, dining areas. Made in Denmark.
  • Perfect for the dining room, living room, or office.
  • Rare leather seat version, a DWR Exclusive.
  • Sculptural solid wood frame with wraparound backrest and arm support.
  • This is the authentic Wishbone Chair from Carl Hansen & Søn.
  • Made in Denmark.

Hans Wegner

Hans Wegner

Hans Wegner stands among designers Finn Juhl, Arne Jacobsen, Børge Mogensen, Poul Kjærholm and Verner Panton as a master of 20th-century Danish modernism. More specifically, he was instrumental in developing a body of work known as organic functionalism. His early training included both carpentry and architecture.
