Details

Børge Mogensen aimed to produce furniture that would be a pleasure to interact with and last for generations. His human-centered approach and focus on craftsmanship are evident in his well-known Spanish Dining Chair (1958). The chair is beautifully crafted in solid wood with the finest quality saddle leather seat and back. It's designed so that over time and with use, as the leather stretches, adjustable straps beneath the seat can be tightened. Made in Denmark.
  • Saddle leather will become even more beautiful with age.
  • Solid wood construction.
  • Adjustable leather straps to tighten the seat.
  • Midcentury modern Danish design.

Børge Mogensen

Børge Mogensen studied under and worked for Kaare Klint, the father of Danish modern design, and later was his teaching assistant at the Royal Academy. Klint’s emphasis on human scale, excellent materials, functionalism and craftsmanship influenced Mogensen, though he adopted an embrace of mass production and a hellbent calling to lighten the heavy Danish furniture of the past.
