The pioneering lighting designer Poul Henningsen drew from scientific principles to create beautiful multi-shade lighting that offers glare-free, softly diffused light. The PH 3 1/2-3 Colour Pendant from Louis Poulsen, based on Henningsen’s drawings from the 1920s and 30s, features his renowned three-shade system, which softly directs light downward. In a choice of rich colors based on his signature palette, the aluminum shades are lined and rimmed in white to reflect and diffuse the light. Place the pendant above a table or desk, beside a chair or sofa, or in an entry. Includes a 12’ cord and accommodates an A19 LED bulb (not included). Made in Denmark.
  • Pendant lamp with colored or white aluminum shades.
  • Reflective, three-shade system directs light downward.
  • Creates a warm, uniform, glare-free glow.
  • Part of Poul Henningsen’s iconic PH 3 family.

Poul Henningsen

Trained as an architect, Poul Henningsen is best known for a series of lighting fixtures that resulted from his fascination with the then-new technology of the electric light bulb. In 1925, one of these fixtures won first prize for lighting at the International Exposition of Decorative Arts in Paris. The next year it was put into production by Louis Poulsen & Co.
