Details
First shown at the Danish Museum of Decorative Art in 1928, the showstopping PH Septima Pendant is one of Poul Henningsen’s most elegant designs. An evolution of his pioneering three-shade system, the Septima layers seven delicate but strong Italian borosilicate glass shades. Each shade alternates bands of clear and frosted glass to distribute softly diffused light while still directing glare-free light downward. A round glass cap at the top helps prevent dust from falling into the lamp. (Henningsen’s drawings for a potential metal version of Septima became the basis for his iconic Artichoke Lamp.) Reintroduced by Louis Poulsen in 2020, the PH Septima Pendant is a stunning work of art to hang above a dining table or in an entry. Accommodates one E26 LED bulb (not included). Made in Denmark.

Poul Henningsen
Trained as an architect, Poul Henningsen is best known for a series of lighting fixtures that resulted from his fascination with the then-new technology of the electric light bulb. In 1925, one of these fixtures won first prize for lighting at the International Exposition of Decorative Arts in Paris. The next year it was put into production by Louis Poulsen & Co.
