Bring the poetic ambience of Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen’s timeless design wherever you go with the VL45 Radiohus Portable (2024). First designed in the 1940s for Copenhagen’s Radiohuset broadcasting house, the iconic pendant has been reimagined as a versatile, portable lamp. It features all the beauty and craft of the original, with three layers of mouth-blown colored glass and elegant brass detailing. A gently looped leather strap on top ensures its warm, glare-free glow can be moved, hooked, or hung with ease indoors and out. Compact and rechargeable, it includes a USB-C charging port and runs for five hours at maximum illumination. Light source (included): 3W LED (2000K-2700K.) Made in Denmark.

Vilhelm Lauritzen

Vilhelm Lauritzen is credited with introducing modern architecture to Denmark in the 1930s when he designed the Daells Varehus department store in Copenhagen – furniture and lighting included. He saw architecture as “applied art for the people, never a privilege for the few,” and went on to design many notable buildings and their interiors, led by his functionalist approach and timeless aesthetic.
