The Seal Lounge Chair (1956) features a sheltering, sculptural seat that seems to hover above its angled wood frame with a lightness that defies its sturdy materials. It’s one of the best-known pieces by Danish designer Ib Kofod-Larsen, a pioneer of the Danish Modern movement who immersed himself in every step of creation. His ultimate focus, however, was on the comfort of the person seated. The chair’s pitched frame, lithe arms, and padded upholstery are an open invitation to lounge. Its slightly tapered legs and arms craft a beautiful silhouette while offering support. Available in a low or high back to match your preferred sit or space, the Seal Lounge Chair is both an icon of midcentury modern design and a timeless addition to any home. Made in Denmark.
