The Plank Chair (2023) takes its name from its distinctive horizontal headrest. Clean and uncomplicated, the repetition of the teak slats and thoughtful angles gives the chair an elegant, architectural feel. It’s emblematic of Paris-born Copenhagen-based designer Aurélien Barbry’s approach “to move objects towards more simplicity”. The chair can stand on its own or perfectly complement the Plank Table (sold separately). Made in Vietnam.
  • Made of beautiful solid teak.
  • Elegant, minimal plank detailing.
  • Suits a wide variety of environments.
  • Left untreated, teak will develop a warm, silvery patina over time if left outdoors.

Aurélien Barbry

Threading the needle of beauty and function, French industrial designer Aurélien Barbry is careful not to tip the scale in favor of form: “My design philosophy is to move objects towards more simplicity and obviousness.” Though direct, his penchant for practical design – including furniture, lighting, and decor – leaves room for the exploration of sculptural, organic, and asymmetric silhouettes.
