When we heard that Woodard was bringing the Sculptura Collection (1956) back into production, we jumped at the chance to partner with them on its return. Sculptura is inspired by the airiness of wicker but handcrafted in sturdy iron mesh that’s treated with rust inhibitors to withstand the elements. The Sculptura Spring Chair is molded to cradle the contours of the human form and sits on a flexible cantilever base that offers the feeling of weightless support.
  • Airy design inspired by wicker.
  • Handcrafted of powder-coated iron.
  • Comfortably cradling curves.
  • Cantilever base for flexible comfort.
  • Treated with rust inhibitors.

Russell Woodard

A family-run business since 1866, Woodward has reinvented itself many times over, but in 1956 the Michigan-based company became a pioneer in modernism with the handcrafted Sculptura chair. Attributed to Russell Woodward, the now-iconic design was the first sculpted chair made without molds, earning it a spot in the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum’s permanent collection in 1994.
