The DWR Rug Collection's Sede Jute Jacquard Rug is handwoven in India on a manual loom by intertwining warp and weft threads, which run length- and width-wise, respectively. This process of interweaving threads involves three motions, including shedding, picking, and beating – industry terms for the way in which the carpet looms are skillfully operated by hand. Featuring a low pile and geometric pattern, Sede is washed for superior softness, a characteristic atypical of traditional jute rugs. Subtle variations of color lend unique qualities to each rug. Natural jute fibers make Sede durable and easy to maintain; periodic vacuuming is recommended. Shedding is a natural, common occurrence and will decrease over time. Rug pad recommended.
